For its great summer exhibition, Fondation Blachere welcomes South African artist Wim Botha for a monograph presentation.
Exploring materials and forms, lines and balances in the style of masters of Renaissance, Wim Botha's work, sometimes delicate and sensitive, sometimes raw and mutilated, draws its strengths from the control of traditional techniques of sculpture, drawing, painting and stages itself in monumental installations.
Wood, books, polystyrene, glass, light tube… are so many materials the artist sublimes.
A unique and singular approach asserts and re-invent itself in a register original and renewed by forms and techniques.
The work is here, disturbing and attractive, marked with mysticism, questioning our fears and desires.
Free entrance.
Open from 2 pm to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday all the year,
& on Sunday in July, August, November and December.
