Éva Rogo-Lévénez

Eva Rogo-Lévénez was born in Kisumu Town, today a city on the shores of Lake Victoria, Kenya. Her first contact with France was through literature in high school, where she had the privilege of studying Candide, or the optimism of Voltaire. A book that was translated into English, ensuring the author, this philosopher who dominated the European culture in the 18th century resurfaced in other cultures, including the Kenyan highlands. She has translated over 40 titles of the Junior African Writers Series (JAWS), developed in Africa for Africa by Heinemann. She has also translated other books from French into English. Eva is also a fervent promoter of the Kenyan art in France.
