Jean-Stéphane Bron was born in Lausanne (Switzerland) in 1969.
After studying under Ermanno Olmi at Italy's Ipotesi Cinema film school, he went on to obtain an honours degree from the Audio-Visual
Department (DAVI) of the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Lausanne (ECAL), in 1995. Having co-authored several internationally-rewarded shorts, in 1997 - at the Locarno International
Film Festival's Piazza Grande - he produced his first feature-length documentary: "Known to Our Departments (Connu de nos services)", which was acclaimed by critics and public alike. A second documentary - "The Way I Look at You (La bonne conduite - 5
histoires d'auto-école)" - was released two years later and
received various distinctions at festivals and TV broadcasts around the world. His subsequent film - "En cavale (On the Run)" for the French TV channel Arte TV - was in turn followed by "Corn in Parliament (Mais im Bundeshuus - le génie helvétique)", two years in the shooting. A box-office hit in Switzerland, where ticket sales exceeded 100 000, this film garnered the Swiss Film Prize in the Best Documentary Feature Film category in 2004.
For many years now, Bron has worked in partnership with the producer Robert Boner, of Cine Manufacture SA (www.cinemanufacture. ch). However, his first feature length fiction film - "Mon frère se marie (My Brother is Getting Married)" - was released by Boxproductions (www.boxproductionsch) in 2006. In 2010, he releases "Cleveland Vs. Wall Street", a documentary thriller that deals with the international finance world (a Robert Boner production), after "Traders" (2009) on the traders.

Jean-Stéphane Bron nace en Lausana en 1969, estudia cine en Italia (Ipotesi Cinema, bajo la dirección de Ermanno Olmi) y más tarde, en la Escuela cantonal de arte de Lausana (ECAL/DAVI) en la que recibe su diploma con mención en 1995.
Es co-escritor de varios cortometrajes premiados internacionalmente.
En 1997 presenta, sobre la Piazza Grande del Festival internacional de films de Locarno, su primer largometraje documental, "Connu de nos services, que recibe una acogida entusiasta por parte de la
crítica y del público. Dos años más tarde sale a la pantalla su segundo documental "La bonne conduite (5 histoires d'autoécole)", que da la vuelta al mundo en festivales y televisiones y obtiene varias distinciones. Más tarde realiza "En cavale" para el canal Arte, antes de emprender el rodaje de "Mais im Bundeshuus - le génie helvétique", que durará más de dos años. Éxito mayor del cine suizo con más de 100'000 entradas, esta película obtiene el ?Prix du Cinéma suisse? en la categoría ?mejor documental? en 2004.
Socio durante muchos años de Robert Boner, su productor en la sociedad Ciné Manufacture SA (www.cinemanufacture.ch), se junta, en 2004, con Box Productions* en Lausana.
En 2006, Jean-Stéphane Bron presenta su primera película de ficción, "Mon frère se marie" (premio concurso de guión SSA 2001/ co-guionista Karine Sudan), y "Cleveland Vs. Wall Street" (2010) un largometraje documental.

*Fundada en 2004 por Thierry Spicher y Elena Tatti, Box Productions es activa en la producción y coproducción de obras cinematográficas, también en el consejo y peritaje de instituciones culturales, privadas o públicas. La sociedad desarrolla proyectos suscitados o guiados según la exigencia artística de los realizadores.
