Josh Ponte is an award winning documentary filmmaker, photographer, editor, music producer, and conservationist. He is National Geographic Explorer, who traveled to Gabon to document the recent environmental conservation efforts, and expanded the project studying 13-orphaned Gorillas. He discovered his mission had another purpose as well, documenting the vanishing ancient knowledge and cultural traditions of the region, especially the traditional Gabonese music. Ponte spent 5 years filming these rituals in the most remote communities of the central African rainforest. His work now explores our climate changing, global-trading, multi-media, mass communication, and a cross-cultural world in search of a visual and sonic language that illuminates our present and future.
