Nadia Cherabi studied sociology at the University of Algiers and then at the Sorbonne. She worked in the artistic department of the Production Board of the CAAIC (Centre algérien pour l'Art et l'industrie cinématographique) from 1978 to 1994. She was assistant director to Ahmed Laalem (Nation news film agency, 1991). At CAAIC, she switched from production to directing films. In 1994, she founded her company Procom International, where she works as both producer and director. After producing documentaries for a long time, she recently produced two full-length features, The Other Side of the Mirror and Alive!.
